Happy Shrove Tuesday!

Happy Shrove Tuesday! More commonly known as Pancake Day, today our St Patrick’s Technical College staff practiced their culinary skills and we were very impressed.

Satisfying a sweet tooth, students and staff enjoyed scrumptious flapjacks for a gold coin donation. All money raised goes to Project Compassion, Caritas Australia’s annual Lenten fundraising and awareness raising appeal showing faith love and generosity this Lent.

Shrove Tuesday is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Pancakes were once popular items for Christians to give up during Lent as they were the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the 40-day Lenten fast.
