Volunteering strengthens ties to our community and is a great opportunity for our young people to give back and make a difference. In Term 3, our Year 11 Plumbing and Electrotechnology students offered their time to assist not-for-profit organisation Treasure Boxes in Edwardstown. The organisation provides families with critical items for babies, children, and teens, such as bedding, clothing, and toys.
Participating in a Social Justice unit within the Skills for Life subject, students were able to lend a hand by championing one of our College’s Values – Service. They commenced with a tour of the facilities then undertook various jobs including, quality control of products and the packing of orders.
Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn, engage, and assist in helping a vital service. Our College is proud to continue to build connections with Treasure Boxes who carry out valuable work for people in South Australia.
