The College had an overwhelming response to the Term 3 school holiday Try-A-Trade taster sessions, with 100 young people in attendance over three days. It was a fantastic opportunity for students interested in pursuing a trade career to explore career pathways and have some fun!
These holidays we introduced Automotive Industry and Civil Construction (Interactive Industry Immersion) sessions, along with full day sessions in Food, Hospitality & Industry Pathways, Plumbing & Electrical, Bricklaying & Tiling, and Carpentry & Plastering. The Try-A-Trade sessions offer students great exposure to these industries, the opportunity to learn new skills, broaden their understanding of available VET pathways, and possible careers through vocational education.
The taster sessions were delivered by registered training organisations MTA Automotive Apprenticeships, Civil Train SA – RTO 45621, Adelaide Institute of Hospitality, PEER, North East Vocational College, and ATEC – Adelaide Training & Employment Centre: RTO code 0022.
If you are interested in participating in our Try-A-Trade programs, the College will be offering opportunities in 2025, so keep an eye out on our website to register your spot > https://stpatstech.sa.edu.au/try-a-trade
