It was an honour to welcome South Australian Skills Commissioner, Cameron Baker, for a tour of the College and to speak with our Year 11 students.
With over 20 years’ experience in the Vocational Education and Training Sector, Cameron is well-versed in the regulatory and training needs of existing and emerging industries.
Speaking with our students, Cameron highlighted the work of the South Australian Skills Commission, the opportunity to nominate for the annual SA Training Awards and the process for applying. Our students will commence writing an application for this year’s prestigious VET awards as part of their English curriculum.
Cameron’s visit was a wonderful opportunity for students to hear from the Commissioner but also an opportunity to showcase our facilities and boast about our trade focus learning and model of education.
Thank you Cameron for your time and insight, along with Michelle Mader – Manager Quality & Risk, Sara Longbottom – Manager Strategy & Performance, and Tim Moss – Senior Marketing & Communications Lead, from the Office of the South Australian Skills Commission.
