Creating Authentic Indonesian Cuisine

2024 Year 11 VET Food_Hero
Year 11 students undertaking VET training in cookery refined their skills in the kitchen to prepare and create a traditional Indonesian dish, Nasi Goreng.

Considered Indonesia’s national dish, Nasi Goreng means fried rice and was deliciously spiced with dark soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce, chilli and shrimp paste, and garlic. With wok-tossed chicken and mixed vegetables, the dish was garnished with crispy shallots, coriander, and fried eggs, sending taste buds on an adventure.

Food & Hospitality students undertake a Certificate II in Cookery under the expertise of Adelaide Institute of Hospitality trainer Sarah. This year, we have welcomed Thomas More College students to undertake their VET training with Sarah and alongside our students.
